It feels like it's been a lifetime since I last bought anything from Sleek. It's not because I don't like the brand or the products, it's just, well I guess I often forget all about their products to be honest. After finding my rose gold blush buried deep in my blusher drawer, I decided to have a look  in the drugstore at what else they had to offer.

I love shimmer eyeshadows, and having  heard a lot about sleek palettes, I thought i'd start at the beginning and pick up the Sleek i-Divine Original Palette. It has such a wide range of gorgeous shades that are perfect for day to  night and even when you're feeling a little bit edgy! At £7.99 it's a bargain for 12 shades!

The Sleek Precious Metals Highlighting palette also made it's way into my basket as I'm really into that glowy highlighted skin  at the moment, which means that i'm buying almost every highlighter I find. I'm not 100% sure if i'll get on with these and the bronzing powder in the bottom right of the palette looks suspiciously gold and warm for my  liking.

So those are my picks from the sleek range! I'd love to hear your thoughts on what I grabbed, let me know in the comments! And if there's anything I should be trying from the range, do let me know!

I fell in love with Margot Robbie just that little bit more when I saw her make up at The Oscars this year. I knew that if there was one 2015 Oscars makeup look i'd be recreating it was hers. I'd read online somewhere that apparently Margot wore the Hourglass Liquid Lipstick in Raven to the ceremony and although I'd tried 4 different Space NK stores, I couldn't get my hands on that gorgeous orangey red shade. Instead I opted for a drugstore alternative with the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet- Hot Pepper Lipstick. I never usually wear orange toned lipsticks, or red lipsticks at all really, which usually tends to make me feel that little bit more glam when I'm go for it.

The other challenge I faced with this makeup look, was covering my acne in a way which not only feels light, but offers good coverage too.  I hope you enjoy the tutorial!

Product Wise, here's what I used:

Foundation: NYX HD Studio Photographic Foundation & Nars Sheer Glow
Concealer: Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - Fair / Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer- Chantilly
Bronzer: Bourjois Delice de Poudre #52
Highlight: The Balm, Mary Lou-manizer
Blusher: MUA Make Up Academy - Cream Blusher, Dolly.
Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade - Taupe

Eyeliner: Bourjois Volume clubbing eyeliner #72
Eyelashes: Ardel Demi Wispies

As always, i'd love to hear your thoughts on this make up look! Also if you have any ideas for who you'd like to see me recreate next, let me know in the comments!

Last Minute Mothers Day Inspiration!

So there's 48hrs to go until Mothering Sunday (or Mothers Day) here in the UK and if you haven't picked a gift out just yet, there's no need to panic. I wanted to share a quick gift idea with you that I know my mum would love and maybe yours will too.

I remember when the Marc Jacobs Daisy perfumes first were released, I was obsessed, and I did my best to convert everyone into loving it too. There have been numerous versions since, and with every release the scents are both classy and sophisticated whilst being suitable for women of all ages, which is no easy task.

The Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Set from House of Fraser* is just pure perfection from the moment you open the box. The cool powder blue tones of the bottle really did make me squeal the moment I saw it the first time! I'm so obsessed with this gorgeous shade of blue, and with the daisy embellishment, it just makes the bottle to die for.

I'm absolutely shocking at describing scents, but I'd say it had a fruity sweet smell that isn't overpowering and it reminds me of smelling fresh flowers at a florists.

At £54.00 it's a respectable amount for a 50ml bottle of perfume, shower gel and body lotion. Or £39.00 gets you the perfume alone leaving enough cash left over for a bunch of flowers to go with it!

I'd love to hear what your favourite perfume is! Let me know in the comments!

How do you define beauty?

Beauty is a word which can conjure a clean and definitive image in our mind every time we hear it. Whether it's a Victoria's Secret model strutting down the catwalk, or a bunch of freshly cut long stemmed roses... beauty is a word which can mean many things, to many people.

I've had a love hate relationship with 'beauty' my entire life and today I wanted to share my continuing journey with what 'beauty' means to me, and hopefully hear your thoughts too.

From the age of around 9 years, there was only really one image in my mind of what a beautiful woman looked like. She was a young sophisticated woman, tall, slim, with long blonde hair and a beautiful face. You could say the epitome of beauty in my childish eyes equaled a cross between a real life barbie doll, and the woman I was reluctantly about to welcome into my family as a 'step-mother'.

As I grew older, my sense of what 'beauty' meant to me changed. I had an accident as a 10 year old child which led to me having my forehead scar, which meant that I would no longer fit into my own ideals of what a beautiful woman looked like, or would grow up to look like. Thus meaning, I'd have to work extra hard to become 'beautiful'.

As a preteen and teenager, I rebelled against the rules of society and along with that, the rules of 'beauty'. I was what you'd call misunderstood, and looking back, in bad need of reassurance, therapy and to be quite honest - likely just a hug from my parents.

Fast forward a few years and after cutting my long thick brown hair into a jaw length bob, plastering my eyelids in eyeliner and dressing head to toe in black, I did my best to fight against the very essence of my beauty ideology. I skateboarded, sang in a hardcore punk band and thew a few moves in a 'mosh pit' which in itself is a slightly beautiful rebellion in a sort of cliche poetic way.

However, it was pretty much the internet which dragged my sorry sullen ass out of beauty black hole, and helped me become confident in my skin.

You see, from the age of about 16, 17, i'd come full circle and even welcomed colour back into my wardrobe. The idealized vision of beauty in my mind hadn't even strayed too far from my childlike vision. I still hoped one day I'd become that barbie doll beauty and I adored the playboy bunny look. The bleached hair, and tanned skin. Which was bang on trend, and out in the world in full force and needless to say, I wanted in on it. I wanted to not only look the part, but have the career to go along with it too.

Pressure and passion can break you, and at 18/19 I used to have panic attacks every week before I headed out to the local nightclub with a girlfriend. I worried and panicked that I didn't look okay, that I wasn't good enough, that nobody would like me. I was too fat, too boring, too bland... you name it, I probably cried over it - numerous times.

It was only at 21, after roughing it out in the modeling industry for a few years did I finally realise what beauty was, and how very wrong i'd been my whole life. You see, by the time I realised what it actually meant to feel beautiful, I'd wasted half of my life dreaming, hoping and wishing to look a different way and feeling depressed that I wasn't seeing what I wanted in the mirror. The modeling industry almost destroyed me mentally, and I've no shame in admitting that.

I was, and for the majority of my life, have been insecure. I have many faults and many scars - both physically and mentally . Along with that, I also know that there aren't enough bottles of concealer in the world to cover some of these old wounds - only time can do that...

But you know what? That's okay.

Our scars, our spots and our quirks make us who we are. When you let go, and stop chasing what society tells you is beautiful, and embrace what makes you who you are...  you'll finally begin to feel it.

To this blogger, beauty isn't defined by how strong my contour is, how fierce my brows are or even how ombre my hair is. Yes all of those traits are beautiful, but are they the be all and end all of what makes someone beautiful? Absolutely not.

Since I began sharing my 'adult acne' journey, I've had so many comments emails, tweets and messages about how I've helped other people accept who they are, accept their skin and make them feel beautiful when they look in the mirror and honestly, that makes me feel so happy.

As painful as it sounds, It took me 25 years to look in the mirror, past my acne, my dodgy hair dye, pale skin, and old scruffy pyjamas to finally see a woman staring back that I was pleased to see. For it took far too long to realise that beauty is much more than how you look in the mirror. It's about how you spend your day, how you help others and most importantly....

True beauty is being the best version of yourself you can be on the inside and out.

Thanks for reading my thoughts, I'd love to hear yours.

On Friday morning, the MAC Cinderella collection was finally released in the UK, and unsurprisingly, it sold out within 20 minutes. I was really hoping it wouldn't release on Friday with it being the one day of the week that I wasn't in front of my computer as I was attending my part time advertising course at a local London University and was spending the whole day in the classroom.

Luckily for me, I'd given my Partner 'M' the heads up the day before that the collection was being released. As soon as I received a text message from April telling me it had gone live, I began manically texting M, hoping my tutor sat across the table from me wouldn't notice. The boy did good, and I ended up with 4 of the products I was wishing for from the range.

MAC Iridescent Powder - £23.00
From the images alone, I knew I had to have this gorgeous metallic powder. I'm looking forward to seeing how it works with my skin tone. I have a feeling it's going to make for a beautiful pink glistening finishing powder on the cheeks.

L-R Free As A Bird & Royal Ball- £17.00 Each
The things I can never have enough of in my make up collection, are Pink & Nude lipsticks. I have to admit, I don't actually own any MAC Lustre lipsticks and wanting to add a few to my collection, I jumped straight in. I'm obsessed with a soft lip, and the Royal Ball lipstick was my first choice. It's a beautiful frosted pink shade. The other lipstick in the range is Free As A Bird which is more of a golden nude shade.

Cinderella Glitter - Reflects Pearl - £18.50
Glitter, oh how I both love and loathe it at the same time. I love a good sparkly eye, but I absolutely hate how much mess it makes. There's nothing that fills me with a sense of dread more, than the thought of a bottle of glitter erupting in my make up bag and having to clean it up for the next few months. Glitter fears aside, I wanted to push myself and try something new, so I added the Reflects Pearl Glitter onto my wish list. I have absolutely no idea how i'm going to wear it - and it's worth pointing out that the glitter isn't eye safe, so beats me what i'll use it for.

So those are my selects from the MAC Cinderella collection! Did you manage to get your hands on anything before it sold out online? Don't despair too much, as it actually hits the MAC Stores and Counters on 13th March, so there's still time to pick up a few bits before you resort to overpriced items on Ebay.

As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts, let me know in the comments.

February Favourites!

my pale skin, beauty, favourites, beauty favourites, february favourites, review, make up, youtube, pale skin, pale, foundation, powder, skin care

After a week long blogging hiatus, i'm finally back and today i'm bringing you the low down on my February Favourites.

The past few months have been so hectic for me, what with working full time, blogging, youtube, being a girlfriend, visiting family and then to top it all off, attending an evening advertising course once a week for my job, needless to say i'm so far stretched, I barely have time to sleep at the moment. I'm pretty sure I'll be back on track over the next couple of weeks before my exam so expect to see a fair few new posts coming your way.

Moving on, I love having a nose at what people have been loving over the past month  in their faves videos and posts as they're likely the ones which gets me feeling like I want to buy all the things. After receiving a few emails asking me to start posting my favourites again, here's where we're at.

So without further ado, here's my brand new February Favourites video, which is actually the first time I've ever filmed a favourites video too! So I do hope I didn't balls it up too badly.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on my choices and the video. Let me know in the comments, and of course, don't forget to give it a big thumbs up and don't forget to subscribe.
