Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Polish - The perfect shades for AW14

The thing about Autumn and Winter is, that everything is berry crazy... and sometimes, I just want to be a little different. I'm a big fan of the Bourjois 1 seconde 'gel' nail polishes as they're incredibly long lasting - even on my peeling nails.

For me, what sets these polishes apart from other high street alternatives is the brush. There's just something about this brush which makes the polish so easy to apply, it's almost like the polish hugs your nail as it glides on.

Shade 11 - Rouge in Style* is a beautiful statement red nail, and one that will certainly brighten up a monochrome outfit to give you the wow factor.

Shade 44 - Grey to meet you* is a silvery slate grey shade that is so beautiful and easy to wear. It's perfect for the dark days and nights ahead.

Shade 45 - The Glitterizer* is a clear polish that contains glitter, but almost like torn glitter. It's just the right level of sparkly that can be used as a top coat or alone for an understated glam effect.

I love how easy and straight forward these polishes are to use and they'll certainly be on my fingers this season.

Shade 44 & 45 Will be launching in November as part of the Enchanted Nightbird collection.

Which is your favourite shade? Let me know in the comments.

A Scheduling Change....

Since I started 'My Pale Skin' earlier  this year, I feel like I've grown not just as a blogger, but also as a writer, photographer, and content creator. I love all the opportunities it has opened for me, and I've also lost count of the amount of sleep deprived nights I've had because of it.

I absolutely love posting every day, I find it challenging, rewarding and fun to do... however, what it doesn't leave me with is time. I also love making videos - that's what I do for a living... I come up with ideas and make videos for brand YouTube channels... yet I can't keep up with my own and as this blog is a place of honesty... it upsets me.

I have so many ideas for things I want to do, achieve and post - but I often forget that I don't have every hour of the day to devote to it. I'm not superwoman, and you know what... it's okay to admit that too.

So, I've decided that I'm going to drop down my posts from 7 days a week to 5 days a week in November - purely as a trial, to see if I can post a video every week... I'm not sure if it will work, or if I have time to commit to that permanently... but if you don't try, you don't know right?

I'd love to hear your feedback on this, as you're the audience, it's only fair that you get a say right?
Let me know your thought's in the comments, I'd love to hear more about the type of posts and videos you like to watch.

Bourjois #24hrpartyready Event!

Last week I headed to the Elegant St Martins Lane Hotel, in Covent Garden - London to attend the Bourjois #24hourpartyready event. I've been to a few events with Bourjois, and I just adore the attention to detail and effort that they put into making everything utterly beautiful, fun and and a total pamper fest.

Not only did they have their latest product releases on display for swatching... they also had manicurists, make up artists, a live fashion portrait illustrator and not only that, but GHD were in attendance too, showing off their latest hair curlers - The GHD Curve.

In terms of new releases from Bourjois, I'm so super excited about the new shade in the Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick - Happy Nude Year. The Quad eyeshadow palettes, and of course the Volume 1 seconde Mascara in Ultra Black. All of these things make me want to lock myself in the make up room and just experiment all day long.

I was lucky enough to have my hair styled by GHD at the event, my nails done by the lovely Sharon and had a portrait drawn of me... and let me just tell you that quite a few cakes and macarons seemed to have horrible delicious accidents at that event...

I had a wonderful evening at the event with Monica & April and so much so we were the last to leave... reluctantly. Another fabulous event by Bourjois and a job well done by the team. I honestly can't fault Bourjois, who have the best events for bloggers, with an incredible team.

I can't wait to review the new releases and share with you some new looks I've created using some of these new products. Which new release are you most excited about?

I've really missed making videos for my channel and I'm hoping to be posting more from now on! As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this look! Let me know in the comments and don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube Channel

#AsDarknessFalls - The Team Gleam & Daily Mix TV Halloween Party

Tuesday Night, I was incredibly lucky enough to attend Team Gleam & Daily Mix TV's Halloween party in Penthouse, Leciester Square - Central London. I think my jaw hit the floor before I squealed with excitement at receiving the invite.

You see, I've always wanted an excuse or a good reason to dress up like a Disney Princess, and this party was that reason. I got to work on planning my Elsa costume right away and made sure to RSVP in a heartbeat!  I'd also invited the beautiful April to come with me and after my slight Taxi delay, I picked her up and we headed to the venue.

This party was like no other i'd ever been to! Everywhere you looked, there was a famous YouTuber, dressed in an incredible costume. Now, after about 3 hours of  being scared to talk to anyone and moving from empty space to empty space... and some all important encouragement from the handful of people I knew in attendance... I eventually plucked up the courage to try and speak to people. It's funny how you can spend all week planning the perfect costume, logistics and everything else that comes with attending a costume party... but the one thing I forget to arrange was my confidence. After a few hours of feeling rubbish, with my confidence hitting rock bottom and some wonderful words of encouragement from Lianne Lim Walker (who by the way is an absolute sweetheart!) I finally got to say hi to Zoella and had a lovely little chat, hung out with Gabby and chatted with Niomi and Marcus,
I had fun catching up with the lovely Scarphelia whom I hadn't seen for a while and also Victoria who i'd previously met at a Primark Event and looked amazing in her make up and black milk costume.

There were so many people that I wanted to speak to and get to know, but I just couldn't shake off my confidence issues and just say hello to people, or strike up a conversation. I've written so many times about how difficult I find it to make friends and meet new people and this night was sadly no different. But, small steps right? That's what we're aiming for... and who knows, at next years party, I might be the loudest person in the room...

I have to say that Katie had worked so hard organizing the party, decorating and generally being just being awesome. I've so much respect to her for pulling off the party of the year.
Thanks so much to Katie, Gleam, Daily Mix  for the invite, and of Course Asda for sponsoring the party and hopefully see you at the next!

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Review

With Autumn in full swing and winter drawing in closer every day, now is about the time to start protecting your lips from the cold weather and harsh winds. The Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant* is a product which not only applies like a dream, giving you a luscious glossy finish on the lips, but it has numerous benefits too.

Retailing at £20.00, the lip protectant stick is a product which protects from many elements. It has an SPF of 15 to help protect your lips from harmful UV Rays, Vitamin E for antioxidant protection and works with the world famous 8 hour cream formula to protect, moisturize and nourish lips to keep them feeling soft and smooth.

I've been using my Lip Protectant after every lip exfoliation and I also apply it in the morning around 20minutes before my lipstick to ensure I've got the perfect base for my lipstick to apply on top of, and to top it all off, it works wonders as a clear gloss too!

If you can look past the price tag, the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant * is a fantastic product and one i'll be wearing every day this summer.

Have you tried this product before? Let me know in the comments!

NV Cosmetics - Fever Lipstick Review

With the Berry Lips trend still in full swing, it's always nice to try out new products and explore new brands. When NV Cosmetics got in touch with me and asked if I'd like to try out a few of their products, I chose the Fever* Lipstick to add to my collection.

Fever* is a gorgeous deep berry, or red wine shade and retails for the affordable price of £6.00. It's billed as being a super moisturizing, long lasting lipstick that 'glides' onto the lips... and glide is certainly does. I have to say that I wasn't expecting it to glide as quickly or easily as it does. It's quite a slippery product and therefore I'd highly recommend lining or reverse lining with a concealer pencil to avoid any bleeding.

In terms of colour, I think it's a beautiful on trend shade that's a welcome addition to my collection. Aside from slipperiness, I think the only other downside I can think of it that the packaging is bigger than that of a tradtional lipstick, so It doesn't fit into my lipstick holder which is slightly annoying... meaning that it might get used less in the future if it's not there in front of me.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this shade. Have you tried anything by NV Cosmetics? Let me know in the comments.

Make Up Revolution Redemption Essential Mattes Palette Review

The Make Up Revolution Redemption Essential Mattes Palette retails for the astounding price of £4.00 for 12 eyeshadow shades. Featuring a wide variety of shades on the neutral spectrum, from nudes, to brown to taupe - there seems as if there is something for everyone in this palette.

With a lot of low priced matte eyeshadow palettes, you may find that the lighter shades are a little chalkier and harder to work with, and this palette doesn't seem to escape that problem, however I haven't found it too difficult to work with on an everyday wear.

By far, my favourite shadesto work with have to be 1 & 12 and 11 & 12. A mix of the lighter shades is perfect for an all over lid colour and eyeshadow base and 11 & 12 can almost pass a dupe for 2 of the shades in the Guerlain Palette I've been loving as of late.

This palette makes for a great starter product if you're wanting to get more into matte eyshadows and product has similar shades that are featured in both the Naked Basics and Naked 2 Basics palette, so if you're unsure as to whether or not to splurge on a good matte palette, then the Make Up Revolution Essential Mattes palette could be the starter palette to take you there.

The only downside I've seen with this palette is that some shades are a little more on the chalky side, but for the price- that's to be expected. Overall, it's a great palette and for £4.00 - an absolute bargain.
