Although I've known about the Clinique Chubby Stick range for quite a while, I've never actually added any to my collection - that was until Glamour magazine had them as free gifts with a copy of the magazine this summer. The blogging world went crazy when news of these samples hit twitter and everyone rushed out to grab some whilst they could.  The full size Chubby Stick retails at £17.00 each and compared to the magazine price of £2.00 it's easy to see why they all flew of the shelves.

I had the best intentions after buying these to test them, blog about them and wear them, but I have to admit... I totally forgot all about their existence until recently. I bought them, photographed them and threw them into the 'to blog about' drawer and It was only whilst I was looking for another product that I found them and gave them a shot.

Having never tried a chubby stick before, I had no idea what to expect from them in terms of colour and I have to admit, I didn't expect them to be so sheer. But when you apply them to the lips, the colour seems to apply more evenly and provides a hint of colour that is enough to give a light touch to the lips as a perfect 'grab and go' lipstick.

As the chubby sticks are a balm like formula, they feel incredibly soft and moisturizing on the lips. The colour lasts a few hours and fades in an even way, meaning no colour splodges, and as they twist up in the tube, you don't need to sharpen them.

I'm so glad I 'shopped my stash' and found these chubby sticks. As 'free gifts' they were an absolute bargain. Would I pay full price for them? For Super Strawberry, I would. It's a beautiful rosy red that works as an everyday lipstick and balm wonderfully. However Woppin' Watermelon which is more of a light pink, hasn't quite won me over yet - I'm not sure if it's worth the full £17.00 price tag and I can't help but feel that a cheaper tinted balm would give the same colour and moisturized feeling.

I'd like to add a full size chubby stick to my collection, and would love to hear which shades you'd recommend! Let me know in the comments...
